A special hurricane recovery message from our CEO, David Southall.

Hurricane Michael struck on October 10th and has definitely left an impact on all of us. Our Community, our families and friends, our credit union, and our members have all been affected. As CEO of Innovations, I'm proud to say that we have done everything in our power to help those in need. Our employees have put their personal matters aside to be here for our members, and we are forever grateful to those who sacrificed so much to make a difference for so many.

Once the storm passed, our Executive Team worked diligently to open as quickly as possible—and we were able to open just days after the storm—beginning with our Thomas Drive branch on Sunday, October 14th, followed by Callaway and Lynn Haven the next day. Each day we were able to increase the number of services available to our members. Today, we are operating full service at four of our six branches. Two branches received extensive damages and will be closed for repairs. Those branches are 1038 Harrison Avenue and 700 W. 23rd Street. We will continue to update you on our progress.

We felt it was critical that we provide immediate help to our members of Innovations. We implemented several programs immediately following the storm. We offered up to 90-day deferments on loans, along with a Hurricane Assistance Loan, and a waiver of fees. To date, we have provided assistance to thousands of members and the requests continue each and every day. Credit bureau reporting has also been temporarily suspended to our two agencies—TransUnion and Equifax.

Communications during events like this are critical and we have been communicating to our members through social media/Facebook and our website. We will continue to use these for future communications and updates, and we ask our friends of Innovations to be patient and considerate when posting comments on social media. We all know firsthand how frustrating it has been to communicate and to be consistent through this difficult time, and most negative experiences were able to be resolved. We have done a lot of things very well during this, and we have also had some things that didn't go so well.

Our motto is "People Helping People" and our promise is to "Always provide service that exceeds our members' expectations through each stage of their lives." We were here for you before Hurricane Michael, we were here with you during Hurricane Michael, and we will be here for you after Hurricane Michael to help you and your family into the future.

We are now offering these assistance programs* to relieve the burden of your financial worries:

Our Call Center is open 24/7 to assist you. We do anticipate a high call volume, so your patience when trying to get through is highly appreciated. Please know your call will be answered in the order in which it was received.

When calling, it is very important to provide your most current email and/or phone number, especially if you are contacting us from an email or phone number we don’t have on record for you.

If you have access to email, we will be able to process your request electronically with an electronic signature form so you will not need to visit a branch to complete your request.

*Skip-A-Payment does not apply to home equity or mortgage loans, mobile home loans, workout loans, business loans or student loans. Loans approved for the up to 90-day Hurricane Assistance Loan Payment Program Deferral are not eligible to receive the Holiday Skip-A-Payment. Offer is subject to approval and all accounts must be current to qualify. Only one month's payment per loan during the months of November, December or January is eligible to be skipped. Each payment that is skipped will extend the term of your loan by one month. A loan's first payment is not eligible to be skipped. If you choose to skip a payment, interest will continue to accrue on your loan during the skipped month. Members who have purchased GAP insurance are responsible for skipped payment(s) in the event of a claim deficiency as stated in the GAP waiver addendum.

Ready to put your leadership skills to work in guiding Innovations into the future? We are currently accepting applications from members who are interested in serving on our Board of Directors. To apply, you must be an Innovations member in good standing and be at least 18 years old. If elected to serve, you must be willing to attend regular monthly meetings, as well as various special meetings throughout the year. Volunteer applications are available at any branch of Innovations and must be submitted by December 3, 2018. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor.
